Keith Banks

Keith Banks
Owner and Director of Studio 10 Dance, also heads up subsidiaries Body Basics Fitness, Club 10, Perfect 10 Sound Design and the Educational Outreach Program (EOP). As a Kansas State University graduate, with degrees in Dance and pre-Physical Therapy, he has studied with famed ballerina, Roni Mahler, Luke Kahlich, and jazz legend, Luigi. Pilobolus, Eliot Feld Ballet and Lee Theodore's American Dance Machine are a few of the groups Keith has had the pleasure to work with. As a finalist in the American College Dance Festival (ACDF), Mr. Banks performed "Galvanic," a contemporary ballet, choreographed by Linda Muir-Westby.

Prior to entering the dance program, college cheerleading offered the physical outlet for Banks' intense athleticism and helped develop his core beliefs on movement efficiency. He was part of a nationally ranked squad from Kansas State University who performed advanced stunts and acrobatics skills on national television.

Professional company experiences include Margaret Wingrove Dancers and Robert Moses' Kin. Industrials and video work include working with George Lucas and Microsoft, Twining Teas, ads for Dockers, Hollister, Inc. (HMO), and Silicon Graphics & Applied Materials. For many seasons, Keith danced the role of the Arabian Prince in Nutcracker, as guest artist for San Jose Dance Theatre. He also performed in the American Musical Theater's production of Dreamgirls.

Keith has traveled the globe as adjudicator and master teacher clinics with several national and international organizations. Travel included dance productions and ambassador of goodwill in Japan, Ireland, Canada and Russia. Mr. Banks has also served on the teaching staffs at Evergreen College and San Jose State University.

Lisa Banks

Lisa Banks
Lisa Banks, Assistant Director of Studio 10 Dance teaches children and adult classes in ballet, jazz, and tap. She co-wrote (HJP)High Jump Program which is a community relations based Educational Outreach Program(EOP) for public schools. Lisa was also the co-creator and promoter of the first teen night club in San Jose, CLUB 10. She began dancing and competing at 6 years old. By age 15, she was traveling to Madrid, London, and Paris to perform in the World Expo, under the direction of Joy Sinnott. Throughout her high school years, she trained and performed with the IndepenDance Company, under the direction of Pat Pearson and Kelley Dodd. Lisa has worked with the "Step Up Program" lead by Ehud Kraus and numerous benefit performances with his company. Lisa's teaching exposure in the South Bay has been primarily through local community center dance programs, elementary, middle, and high schools in San Jose, as well assisting with master classes throughout the United States. She has worked with the ARTPATH program, teaching dance to kindergarten through fifth grade students in Mountain View. She has taught with Leslie Sokol and the "DanceKidz" program making dance reachable for under privileged students. In 2005 Emerald Bowl Lisa was a featured hip hop dancer during the half time performance. Her diverse background in theater, ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop has made her become an "in-demand teacher." Her energy and enthusiasm is contagious.

Gayle Greenbrook

Danny George
Dancing since the age of 14, Danny has had extensive training in jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, musical theatre and hip-hop. He has studied and trained with great teachers such as Keith Banks, Doug Caldwell and, Pamm Drake. In 1999, he graduated from CSU Hayward with degrees in Dance and History. Since 1993, he has been a member of the United Spirit Association (USA) Dance/Drill Instructional Staff, where he choreographs and teaches dance camps through out the United States. Still performing as a professional dancer, he's a 10-year member of the Visual Rhythm Dance Company and danced in the independent film, "Shut Up and Dance, the Movie". He’s choreographed the 1998 Paris France New Year's Parade and the 2002 East-West Shrine Game Half-time performance through USA. In addition to Studio 10 he is also a full-time faculty member for the Lincoln High School dance department. At Lincoln, he teaches all levels from beginning to advanced, and is the director of the Championship dance team, the Lincoln Convertibles. Danny is very honored to be a apart of the Studio 10 staff, and really loves to share is passion of dance with his Studio 10 students and dancers.

Gayle Greenbrook

Gayle Greenbrook
Gayle Greenbrook had a successful career as a child actress and vocalist. She retired at eighteen and went into competitive roller-skating achieving national status.  She hung up her skates and went back to her first love...dance, tap in particular. Gayle has been very fortunate in being able to study with such masters as Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Sam Weber, Dianne Walker, Fred Strickler, Eddie Brown and Fayard Nicholas.  Gayle has taught all over the Bay Area and started with Studio 10 in 1992, now calling it her home base. She is the founder and artistic director of "Tap Explosion" the south bay's only tap dance company.  Gayle and "Tap Explosion" have been successful since 1995. An accomplished singer she also teaches voice lessons out of her home and at Studio 10 Dance.

Nicole McCullough

Nicole Foisy
Nicole Foisy has taught Jazz and Lyrical at Studio 10 Dance since 1996 to students ranging in age from 7 years to adult.  She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Santa Clara University, where she studied on scholarship in Dance and Interpersonal Communications. Nicole started with United Spirit Association (USA) in 1996 and is currently the National Dance/Drill Program Director.  She serves as a judge at dance competitions at both the State and National level. Nicole has choreographed and assisted in the production of several NFL and collegiate halftime productions for the 49ers, the East West Shrine Game & the Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. She traveled to Tokyo, Japan on behalf of the USA to direct and instruct a dance camp to over 200 students. In addition, Nicole has worked extensively as a director, master teacher, and choreographer for several award-winning competitive dance teams and soloists.

Karen Chuang
Though Karen began dance at a very young, she did not fully become passionate about it until recent years. She currently studies with the Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area, a pre professional company for dancers serious about entering into the dance field as an artist. Both J.E. Talent in San Francisco and DDO Talent Agency in Los Angeles currently represent her for dance, modeling, and acting. Karen has appeared in numerous commercials and corporate films including Direct TV, Verizon Wireless, and HBO. She has also received many different awards, including National Senior Icon at the Hollywood Connection Nationals in 2005 as well as 2006. Her most recent choreographic achievements includes winning first place in the dance/choreography division at the Annual Olympiad of the Arts Festival held by Mission College for her solo “Back” as well as the “Originality Award” for her piece “Sunshowers”. Karen hopes use her unique style and choreography to one day have a successful career as an artist.

Kayla Neuman
Ever since she could walk, Kayla Neuman has been dancing and it’s her passion.  For the last twelve years she has studied and performed numerous styles of dance. Lyrical, jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, and hip-hop are the various types of dance she excels in.  Kayla like to think of the stage as her second home, because she has performed in many recitals as a part of the company and as a guest dancer.  She currently is involved with her dance program, “Step Fus1on” at school.  Kayla choreographed and participated in the shows put on by this group.  She feels very privileged to have the opportunity to work with inspiring dancers at this studio.

Shannon Hanly
Shannon Hanly has performed and choreographed Professionally for the past 9 years. She completed her B.A. in dance as the Outstanding Senior in 2007. Shannon has won many awards including a solo Performance in the Gala at American College Dance Festival. She has performed and choreographed for the NBA, WNBA and is now performing with Phoenix Dance Company, a professional hip-hop company, and is the Artistic Director for BASIC, a modern dance collective. Her goals are to inspire and educate those around her to broaden their dance vocabulary. Shannon, reaches to help others and herself grow technically. Her choreography has been showcase all over the Bay Area. Be sure to look out for her performances and classes here at Studio 10 Dance. She is just getting started!

Margret Faylor
Margret debuts this year at Studio 10 Dance, but boasts 16 years of experience specializing in Jazz, Tap, and Creative Dance. She enjoys working with beginner level students, where she applies her unique ability to communicate with up & coming dancers in the pre- teen classes.

Margret has coached and choreographed for competitive dance teams, served as  judge for high school and studio competition teams, in addition to coordinating numerous  recitals  . H er love for dance started in high school, where she was a member of a CA State award winning high school dance team. She later danced professionally for the San Jose Sabercats (Saberkittens) and the Golden State Warriors NBA team. She feels fortunate to be part of an outstanding team promoting proper dance technique, fun and overall love of movement at Studio 10 Dance.

 

Rory Pete
Inspired and mentored by his older cousin Henry, Rory began his passion for dance as an adolescent. Today, Rory's passion has fostered into both a talent and career that has enabled him to teach and dance all around the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2004, Rory began his professional venture with dance training and performing with Booftroop Dance Company. During Rory's two years with Booftroop, the team accumulated an impressive list of accolades including 1st place at 2006's Pump It Up Competition, 2006's Best of the Bay Competition and 2005's Hot Import Daze as well as 3rd place at Battlefest 2006. He has also danced in a variety of shows and venues most notably at the Cow Palace as a closing act for Def Jam recording artist Christina Milian during LIVE SF 2006. Additionally Rory has appeared in a music video and co-choreographed a children's production that premiered in December of 2007.
Since 2002, Rory has choreographed and taught Hip Hop dance classes for various studios, programs and teams. He first began teaching children's dance classes for the City of San Jose and has also taught for Creative Learning through Arts and Performance (CLAP), NorCal Studios and Yahoo! Dance. Currently Rory teaches hip hop, breakdancing and street jazz classes for children and adults at Studio 10 Dance and other local studio's in the Bay.

Rory's training and speciality lies in hip hop but he is also proficient in breakdancing, house and freestyle. In addition to dancing and teaching, Rory works as a 6th grade basketball coach and an after-school program leader at Joseph George Middle school in San Jose as well as an event coordinator for Cool Kids Entertainment. In 2008, Rory has been tapped to choreograph a tour for an up and coming Bay Area Hip Hop artist and plans to complete his Associates Degree to transfer to San Jose State University where he will be the first member in his family to attend a university! Come be inspired to dance.

 
Mallory Welsh
Mallory Welsh joined Ballet San Jose in 2006 as an Apprentice.

She trained at School of American Ballet in New York City and has performed in various Workshop performances such as George Balanchine's Square Dance and Bourree Fantasque.

Prior to this, Ms Welsh studied at the ABT Summer Intensive and the San Francisco Summer Intensive.

She has also performed with the New York City Ballet and in the production of Wall to Wall George Balanchine at Symphony Space in several roles.
 
Tiffany Glenn
Tiffany Glenn, from Washington, D.C., received her training at Jones-Haywood School of Ballet. in Washington, D.C., Rosella Hightower Centre de Dance in Cannes, France, Alvin Ailey American Dance in New York City, and with Alonzo King in San Francisco.

Before joining Ballet San Jose in 2001, she danced with Dance Theatre of HarlemDancing Through Barriers Ensemble and performed such ballets as Creole Giselle, Four Temperaments, South Africa Suite and Serenade.

With Ballet San Jose, Miss Glenn enjoyed working with Donald McKayle in his production of Death And Eros, and added Mistress of Ceremonies in Graduation Ball, Who Cares?, a stunning debut performance in Out of Africa and Middle Kingdom—Ancient China to her repertoire.

She has also taught ballet classes at Ballet San Jose School and has assisted in rehearsals of the Company.
 

Erin Cuevas
Erin Cuevas has been training since the age of ten, studying  hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, ballet, pointe, and gymnastics. Erin trained intensely for seven years at Dance Effects and was a member of their lyrical performance group.  About three years ago she found a passion for urban hip-hop and began dancing with Future Shock San Jose and Booftroop Dance  Company.  She now dances with Chaotic 3 and  USC Dance Repertory Company while attending University of Southern California as an Architecture major.  We welcome Erin to our teaching staff here at Studio 10 Dance.
